Sister duo Charm of Finches from Melbourne, Australia, aka Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes, make haunted tunes about love, grief and whispering trees: indie folk awash with seamless blood harmonies traversing melancholy and wonder in equal measure.
Citing influences such as First Aid Kit, Sufjan Stevens, Gillian Welch and Danish artist Agnes Obel, Charm of Finches are heading to Sweden after charming sold-out audiences in the UK. Awarded the 2021 Music Victoria’s Best Folk Act and Youth Artist of the Year at the 2021 Australian Folk Music Awards, the duo has twice earned nominations for the prestigious Australian Music Prize. Lauded for their mesmeric live shows, lush chamber-folk albums and captivating award-winning music videos, their self-produced video for “Treading Water” recently took out first prize in the 2021 International Song Competition.
